Tottenham could be set to muscle in on Arsenal’s move for Winston Reid, according to reports.
The Gunners have been hotly-tipped to make a bid for the West Ham defender, whose contract expires in the summer, during this month’s transfer window.
But unless they move quickly, they could be beaten to the punch by their north London rivals over the summer, with boss Mauricio Pochettino sensing a bargain according to the Mirror.
As the January window rolls on, it looks increasingly unlikely Arsenal will be prepared to meet the Hammers’ valuation to seal a deal for the 26-year-old.
But their stalling over a fee could see Arsene Wenger lose out at the end of the season, when Reid will be available on a free transfer – naturally attracting wider attention.

Manchester United could seal a deal for target Kevin Strootman if they make a ‘huge’ offer for the Roma man, according to reports.
United have been linked with the highly-rated midfielder for some time, but boss Louis van Gaal held off making a summer move while Strootman recovered from a serious knee injury.
But now the 24-year-old is back playing, Van Gaal could be ready to make his move.
And although Roma have previously stated the Dutch international is not for sale, they may be willing to listen to a mammoth offer, according to club president James Pallotta.
‘My view is that I don’t want Kevin to go, for example, but if someone offers a huge amount, you at least have to listen to them,’ Pallotta told Bleacher Report.
‘We want to put the best team on the pitch, that’s…

Emma Willis is the hot favourite to take over Dermot O’Leary’s job as X Factor host after he hinted he might not return next year.
The Big Brother presenter already dips her toes in presenting duties for This Morning and The Voice so she’d surely be a natural to take the reigns of the ITV primetime series this autumn.
Dermot took over from Kate Thornton back in 2007 after she was axed by Cowell but the radio DJ dropped his biggest hint yet that after eight years of being on the show, he could be set to walk.
When asked by Radio Times if he’d signed a contract for the…
